Brush cutter ready for summer: quick maintenance guide

With the arrival of summer, the brush cutter is back in the spotlight to keep gardens, edges and green areas tidy. But before putting it into operation, it is important to carry out some checks and minor maintenance to ensure its safe and efficient use.
1. General cleaning and visual verification
Remove grass, dust, and dirt residue from the engine casing, vents, and cutting head. Check that all parts are intact and well secured.
2. Clean air filter = protected engine
A clogged filter reduces performance and increases consumption. Clean it or, if necessary, replace it with an original STIHL replacement.
3. Check the cutting head and line
Open the head and check the condition of the line: if it is too short, hardened or worn, replace it. Also make sure that the mechanism is working properly.
4. Fuel and lubrication
- Empty any old fuel left in the tank.
- Fill with fresh mixture (gasoline + 2T oil) or use STIHL MotoMix.
- Check the grease in the gear case (metal heads) and grease if necessary.
5. If you have a battery-powered model
Cleaning the contacts, checking the charge and visually checking the battery. Make sure it fits properly into the housing.
💡 A small gesture, big results
Regular maintenance extends the life of your brush cutter and minimizes the risk of malfunction just when you need it.
