In the 1980s, Valeria realized that ski mountaineering clothing was heavy, bulky, and derived from alpine skiing gear, totally unsuitable for the effort of climbing.

Her “crazy idea” (hence the name, Crazy Idea) was to create suits and clothing for ski mountaineering inspired by the cross-country skiing world: light, ergonomic, form-fitting, and, above all, functional. It was a revolution. Crazy literally invented modern ski mountaineering clothing.
