The STIHL MS 500i petrol chainsaw is ideal for forestry work. Thanks to its high power and ease of use, it is perfect for processing large timber. The lightweight design and dynamic cutting behavior make this chainsaw extremely maneuverable, not only for felling and bucking, but also for limbing. In this version, the chainsaw features a guide bar with a 40th anniversary STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® design.

The MS 500i is the world’s first chainsaw with electronically controlled injection. The innovative STIHL Injection technology ensures optimal engine performance and excellent starting behavior, regardless of altitude and ambient temperature. Sensors detect air pressure, internal and external temperature, and transmit the data to the control unit, which precisely regulates the fuel quantity and ignition timing. Fuel dosing is managed through the opening and closing of a valve.

STIHL Injection offers lightning-fast acceleration with high performance and low weight:

• The chain accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 0.25 seconds
• The MS 500i achieves the best power-to-weight ratio on the market: only 1.24 kg/kW

Electronic injection is integrated into the proven STIHL 2-MIX engine, which offers high performance with low consumption. To reduce muscle and joint strain, the chainsaw is equipped with STIHL ElastoStart. The high-level equipment is completed by:
