Nordforest Winch 1200

The 1200 capstan winch is the most versatile model in the Nordforest range. Thanks to its low weight and high pulling force, it is the ideal choice for a wide range of tasks. Whether pulling timber, securing and moving light suspended loads, recovering vehicles, or retrieving game, the 1200 capstan winch gives you all the options.

Traction and load-holding functions can be remotely controlled from the winch, outside the danger zone (safety distance of 5 meters). Pulling the free end of the rope activates the throttle lever on the control unit and the winch starts to turn. At the same time, this function serves as the main safety device, the so-called ‘dead man’ system. If the pulling rope is released, the winch motor idles and the load is held securely by the rope clamp and the friction of the rope on the winch drum.

The capstan drum offers two further fundamental advantages over traditional drum winches. Firstly, a lightweight synthetic rope can be used. In this case, the rope length can be chosen freely, as it can be wrapped around the capstan at any point. Secondly, the pulling force always remains constant, as there is only ever one turn of rope on the capstan drum.

The 1200 capstan winch is powered by the Active Brutale 6.5 2-stroke engine. The engine is fueled with the same special fuel (2-stroke alkylate petrol) used for your chainsaw and operates regardless of position. Equipped with a particularly durable gear unit with oil-bath lubrication, the winch reaches a maximum pulling force of 1200 kg. Delivery without accessories. Delivery without anchoring strap. Use exclusively with kernmantle ropes for winches in the specified diameters and with corresponding breaking loads. Not suitable for use with hollow ropes!
